Hudson Lourenço, a creative and prolific musician, serves as organist for four churches in Iowa: Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Waterloo, and Trinity Lutheran Church and Redeemer Lutheran Church, both in Marshalltown. Also in Marshalltown, where he lives with his husband, Joe Feld, Lourenço holds the title of artist-in-residence at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, as well as the position of pianist accompanist for the vocal departments at Lenihan Intermediate School and Miller Middle School.
Lourenço earned a bachelor’s degree in organ from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and a master’s degree, also in organ performance, from the University of Iowa.
In his free time, Lourenço enjoys doing home projects, gardening, cooking, and biking.
